Don’t Start Too Big :

If it is your first time, you must consider an easy grade trek assuming that you are not sure of your stamina or physical strength. This will surely give you a positive experience and motivate you to do more treks in future .

Physical Strength :

Make sure that you are well prepared for the trek in advance by doing some leg strengthening exercises and cardio to build the stamina for the trek. This will help you in enjoying the trek instead of struggling to maintain pace with fellow trekkers if you are joining a group.

Hydration :

When you feel thirsty on trek, try to sip small amount of water more frequently than drinking too much at once considering you will be in need of water till the trek ends or even after that (Assuming the non availability of water).

Trekking Fuel :

Similarly to Hydration, your energy requirements will also increase while trekking, however I would recommend you to eat once you reach at the top (as it is obviously a small trek). You can eat a fruit while trekking ( An Orange or Apple) to cope with your midway hunger pangs.

Trekking Stuff to Carry :

Assuming that you are going for an easy trek where you don’t need any technical equipment, I have listed down some of very basic things which you need to carry
  • A Small Rucksack or Backpack
  • Comfortable Trekking Clothes ( You must consider your clothing according to the season)
  • Good Trekking Shoes
  • Water Bottle ( You must carry minimum 2 liters of water even for an easy grade trek )
  • First Aid Box or Necessary Medicines
  • Light Snacks – Fruits or Packed food ( Assuming If the food is available at the Base Village)
  • An Energy Drink if needed
  • Small Garbage Bag
  • Hat or Sunglasses
